About me
Hi, I'm Katrina, a Mental Health Accredited Social Worker and the founder of Olive Counselling. With over 15 years experience working in the space of perinatal mental health, sexual assault services, couples counselling, and community mental health I bring warmth, compassion and grounded expertise to my work.
My deep passion for perinatal and couples counselling comes from both professional expertise and personal understanding. Becoming a parent showed me firsthand how overwhelming, beautiful and transformative the parenting journey can be. It is what drew me to supporting other parents navigating identity shifts, relationship strain, birth trauma, loss and the emotional changes that parenthood can create.
Similarly, I have always been fascinated by how couples connect, disconnect and repair. I feel strongly about creating a space for couples to slow down, really hear one another and reconnect in meaningful ways.
I work from a trauma-informed lens and draw on modalities like ACT, CBT, mindfulness, EMDR, and polyvagal theory. I also draw on Gottman Method Couples Therapy, parts work, and Circle of Security Parenting to support clients and families.
At Olive Counselling, I offer a safe, inclusive, and affirming space for all, including people of all genders, cultures, religions, and sexualities.
Whether you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, or simply need a space to breathe and be heard, I'm here to walk alongside you.
In person sessions are available in Charlestown NSW as well as online Australia wide.
